Sorting Out Contracts in the Startup Phase

“Lindblad’s team has helped us on several occasions over the years,” says the company’s CEO Jonne Poutiainen. “Our collaboration began in 2018 when we decided to grow the company. Lindblad’s team helped us at that point to organize the company’s contractual basis so that it supports the business goals.”

“Especially the very first project, where we went through all the contracts defining the company’s operations, was beneficial. It has enabled us to grow significantly bigger in five years,” Poutiainen acknowledges.

Attorney Markku Lindblad explains the collaboration in more detail: “In the beginning, we set up the company’s contract template to a state where it’s safe and clear to grow the business. After that, we have consulted the company along the way and made various agreement templates that the company’s business has needed.”

According to Poutiainen, the journey also includes one partner disengaging from the business. “Those situations always involve a fair amount of paperwork, such as drafting purchase agreements, cancelling shares, and all the related minutes,” Poutiainen continues. “We wanted to ensure that the situation goes smoothly and correctly for everyone.”
